Halloween Horrors

We had our annual pumpkin carving party, with Nate and Whitney as the newest members of the crew.  Congrats to some awesome pumpkins everyone!  Nate and Whit didn't let us down with the Cisco and Boo pumpkins. :)

However, Halloween was a little less climactic this year than previous years.  Riley came down with a wicked virus that put him out for 6 days running a fever and feeling awful.  Eliza and Spencer each followed a couple of days behind him with the same thing.  I think Spencer may have just broken his fever just today.

What did that mean for Halloween this year?  It meant super sick kiddos who didn't get to go do a lot of Halloween activities.  I almost had to go to Riley's class party without him since I am the room-mom and in charge of it.  He missed school all the way up until Halloween and just barely felt well enough to go back to school that day.  Eliza missed her class Halloween concert and carnival and trick-or-treating. Thankfully Spencer is pretty clueless, so he doesn't really think he missed out on anything.

Thankfully they were able to participate in at least a few activities and Riley made it back up in time for a little birthday celebration.  We moved his party to next weekend just to clear the house of germs before we invite anyone over, but at least he had some presents and cake on his special day.
