You've heard of toddlers being picky eaters, and of infants who are opposed to a new flavor of baby food, but what about a picky nursing baby?  Spencer is a picky eater.  Yes that's right, he's not even four months old and he is making a statement about his food.  You would never guess it from the rolls on his thighs, but it is true.  He often goes on nursing strikes depending on what vitamin I ate that day or in retaliation for not getting what he wants fast enough.  Most of the time he only eats on the left side because for whatever reason, the right side isn't up to his standards.  If you try a bottle, Spencer likes his milk at a certain temperature.  Not luke warm, not slightly cold, not hot, but just the right temperature.  He only likes one type of bottle with a Stage 1 Soothie nipple.  Don't you dare give him a Stage 2 by mistake, he doesn't like his milk to come out too fast.  And some days, he's just not in the mood for a bottle at all.  If you mess up - beware... there will be screaming, and a lot of it. 

Unfortunately, Spencer is on the road to becoming a formula fed baby sooner than I would like, but what is a mother to do?  My dear Spencer, eating could be so much easier...
