Today she asked me to put her hair in a little pony tail on the top and then proceeded to tell me what Wednesday and Thursday's hairstyles would be. Before preschool, she frequently thinks out loud, "I wonder what Kate is wearing today?"
She is also very particular about what she wears. She has to be in the mood to wear a particular outfit and sometimes we have to try on 3 or 4 outfits (or more) before she finally finds what she wants. It's usually an excuse that something is "too tight" or it "tickles" even though it was just fine two days ago.
Last weekend Brandon took her and Riley to Brigham City, about 2 hours away, to see a temple open house. We wanted the kids to see what the temple looks like so they could know what a special place it was. We wanted to talk to them about how the temple is an important place we make promises to keep the commandments and be sealed together as a family. Everything went pretty well until they got to the door. At the door they slipped booties on everyone's feet to keep it clean from the thousands of people walking through that week. The fashion diva was NOT okay with that. She started to panic and scream, ripping them off and refusing to put them back on. Needless to say, Brandon was not about to take her into the temple screaming, so after pulling her aside and having a long talk with her to calm her down, they finally compromised. Well, actually, it wasn't much of a compromise since Brandon ended up carrying her through the entire tour of the temple, 4 flights of stairs and all, so she didn't have to wear the dreaded booties.
Well, if you're lucky she'll get tired of it by 13... Yeah... Not likely, haha.
